What exactly is Big Brother?
Big Brother is a global reality format, but all versions share this basic premise:
A group of people known as "housemates" move into the "Big Brother" house. Under constant surveillance, the housemates are given various tasks and twists to challenge and surprise them. Each week, housemates vote each other out, those with the most votes are "evicted". The last housemate standing becomes the winner of the competition and wins a cash prize.
How will this work in Minecraft?
On the real show, contestants ("housemates") can stay as long as 13 weeks in the Big Brother House! However, for the Minecraft version, the competition will only last 7 days. Each day, potential housemates will have to join the Minecraft world at the same time and play for a minimum of 2 hours. During these sessions, housemates will take part in tasks and nominations, with each session ending in an eviction. The finale will take place on the final day of the competition, where all players will be invited back to crown the winner of Big Brother. The winner will receive an Amazon voucher worth £10!
Will this be filmed just like the real thing?
Yes! The competition will be recorded and edited and uploaded to the Big Brother Minecraft YouTube channel. However, these videos will remain unlisted, which means only those who have the link can watch it. This is to ensure the privacy of those who took part whilst still having the opportunity to watch back their time in the house.
When is this taking place?
Dates will be scheduled closer to the time in order to fit any potential housemate's availability and time zone. However, the competition will take place in July.
I'm interested! What do I need to apply?
Great! All you need is a copy of Minecraft Bedrock (PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X/S, WINDOWS 10, ANDROID, IOS) - not to be confused with Minecraft Java - and a Discord account. You must also have and be comfortable using a microphone to voice chat and communicate with your fellow housemates. This competition is also only open to players aged 16 and over! If you're old enough and have everything mentioned above, you're free to apply!
